looks like i have not exactly written about anything 'boring' other than my life lately. shall take the chance of a lazy holiday to do some crapping. haha.

was washing my tanks the other day. my scrawny turtle is shrinking in size. he still acts aggressively, but he has literally lost his bite. he seems to be suffering from some infection. i scratched what i thought was fungus off his shell, and he started bleeding from there. haiz. now the bruise is still very much visible. he has lost his energy too. he used to sleep only at night, and liked to create a din through the day, now he sleeps at different spots in the tank at different times of the day. oh well. at least he has a routine to stick to. i wonder if it's good for him.

shrypy seems quite bored as well. staring out at the legs that go past, occasionally snapping away. but shrypy, thankfully, is in a much better state, though increase in size is no longer obvious.

this actually led me to think. is keeping pets an act of cruelty in itself?? what if after getting it, you realise you didn't have much time as you thought you did, or you suddenly realise the added responsibility is more of a burden and a restriction than a joy?? wouldn't it be unfair for the poor things?? of course, i guess this cannot exactly be a problem to people like me who don't keep cats or dogs, animals which can show their emotions much better than the rest, in my case, my two reptiles. but another argument would naturally surface. if they grow too big for the pet shops, what happens to them?? are we, then, giving them a second chance at life??

back to my scrawny sulky. i do fear going home to a motionless turtle, which is why i'd rather take a risk and rouse him from sleep at night. haiz. talk about attachment.

things have been happening at my workplace, both ex and present. seems like there're really two sides to a story, two faces to a coin. depending on where your stand is, or in my case, where i work, the situation can get pretty bad. being a bystander in both places, hearing both sides of the story, i have learnt one thing. listen with a pinch of salt. hahaha.

are females as scary and complicated as i make them out to be, or is it just me looking at things through my blurred microscope?? or maybe i have the (mis)fortune to be around some 'formidable' people. oh well. one man's meat is another's poison i guess.

now that our birthday is coming, and things have stabilized somewhat (i hope), the road ahead looks like s'pore's expressways. brightly lit. haha. lousy analogy. but it does sum up the year. sunshine after rain. lotsa of sunshine. it's going to be a bright sunny day from now on. shall we??
